Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Beth Roper

Lead Pastor

Beth Roper is the pastor of Zebulon United Methodist Church, where she was appointed in July 2026. Beth loves sharing God’s love with others! Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, she began feeling the call to ministry when she was a teenager. She attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where she was encouraged to pursue church leadership. After some discernment in college, she answered the call to attend seminary and began her education at Duke Divinity School in the fall of 2021. She graduated in 2024 with a Master of Divinity degree, a certificate in preaching, and a certificate in United Methodist studies.

Beth is on the ordination track to become an elder in The United Methodist Church and has recently been commissioned as a Provisional Member (June 2026). Most recently, Beth served as the pastor of three rural congregations: High Falls UMC (High Falls), Fair Promise UMC (Goldston), and Bethlehem UMC (Sanford).

Here’s a little more about Beth: She recently got married and went from Beth Johnson to Beth Roper! Her husband, Davis, is an engineer at John Deere. Together, they live with their corgi, Junie B. Johnson, who keeps them on their toes!

She enjoys collecting fun sweaters, Barbies, and giraffes (her favorite animal). Beth also loves reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoys celebrating holidays and the ways that God is moving in and through us!

Beth is so thankful for this holy opportunity to be at ZUMC! God is already at work in the life of Zebulon United Methodist Church, and Beth is excited to grow in faith, serve the community, and share Christ’s love alongside this congregation in the years ahead!
